brittsnbirds Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 oneshot, I was actually thinking about staying down through that weekend but my buddy (straight) and I decided we didn't need to be subjected to that type of lifestyle so we headed back north. What made it tough was passing all the Travel Trailers headed south on the way home just wondering??? Especially when they were occuppied by 2 fella's (if you know what I mean?) Pat
FlyFishinFool Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I did not even realize there was a specific Gay Pride weekend on the Niangua River - so I Googled for the information. According to the Ozark Review Forum, the gay pride weekend on the Niangua was actually the prior weekend - July 17/18. I was at BSSP on the following Tue-Thu (7/20-22)and saw lots of families with kids in the park. I did not check out the river. I think it is probably a lot of families taking their kids fishing while they still can before the back-to-school stuff gets started. * ´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> `•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((º> .¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> I look in my fly box and think about what should guide my choice of the best fly: the amount/angle of sun on the water, the water temp & clarity, what bugs are hatching, what the fish might be eating, and what worked last time. Then I remember what an old man told me... " Ninety percent of what a trout eats is brown, fuzzy, about 1/2 inch long and underwater."

I figured it was 24 and 25 because one Son was wanting to take his Family floating and the other Son was advising against it.Well don't matter either way its done over with. oneshot
NoLuck Posted July 28, 2010 Author Posted July 28, 2010 Ahhhh....... So that would explain all those rainbow flags and bumper stickers. LOL Not that there is anything wrong with that LOL.
XP 590 Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I was down there on the 25th also and had the best afternoon I've had in a long time. Fished the end of zone two with olive and grey tungsten zebra midges, size 18, and caught fish non stop. I was floating them about two feet below a small indicator. The fish do seem a little smaller on average but I'm not complaining.
rcguy Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Grey zebra midge is bout the only color I don't have. What color wire and head?
