eric1978 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Windy's and Harvey's are both huge liveries and will have whatever you're looking for. I'm sure their rates are comparable. I've used Harvey's for a shuttle once, and the truck was where it was supposed to be when we got to the take out. Never rented from either of them. If you're planning on going on a weekend in the next couple weeks, you may want to consider reservations. It'll be packed.
Members stream stalker Posted August 4, 2010 Members Posted August 4, 2010 I haven't been to Jack's Fork in a few years, but in my experience Windy's is one of the best, most professional canoe operations I've ever used. -SS
KCRIVERRAT Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 If you float from Alley to Eminence, use Windy's or Harvey's. Windy's is in town just south of the 19 bridge. If you use Harvey's, their rental store is about 5 miles east of Eminence on Hwy. 106 before you get to the river bridge. Put-in is just across the highway from them at the Alley Spring campground (same as Windy's). Harvey's take-out is at their campground while Windy's is a little further down, just before the 19 bridge. If you float the trip from Eminence to Two Rivers, use Two Rivers Canoe rental. Anita will take care of you. All of these options allow you to leave your vehicle(s) so that you can float back to them. No time restraint to get back. If you choose Harvey's and aren't staying at their campground, make sure to ask them if they will shuttle you from the campground upriver to their canoe rental store (or Alley Campground as they'll probably have canoes ready at the gravel bar). I believe they do but better check. Or just take the guesswork out of it and use Windy's. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
ozark trout fisher Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I have only used the Two Rivers Canoe Rental- But they seemed to be nice folks, and have pretty reasonable prices, so I'd recommend them. I think they only service the stretch from Eminence to their place at the junction with the Current though. The Jacks Fork is a beautiful, pretty gentle float river with plenty of excellent scenery all along it. Just be aware that you may run into a few "interesting" characters on the JF especially on a weekend. It is a party river below Alley Spring and you'll encounter all the problems that go along with that

ozark trout fisher Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Two Rivers serves the entire river. Check out their website. You're right. I thought they only did the lower stretch for some reason, but that's not true.
Members jason v Posted August 6, 2010 Members Posted August 6, 2010 Just returned from Eminence and we used Windys and floated from alley to eminence it was crowded but had a great time. As of the post of it being a party river there was alot of people but everyone seemed well behaved and I was not upset thtat i took my kids. We camped below 19 bridge i think must of the partiers will tube from circle b right above hwy 19 bridge so if you do ally to eminence you come to crcle b pretty close to the end of the float
