My largest ever came from a pond. Forty years ago. Now days I would release it. Back then I took it home to brag and eat.

I wonder how many out there caught their largest on a pond. Speak up if you did.

Caught my largest in a pond of about 150 acres. Nope, that was a lake. Was gonna eat it, but I took it to the taxidermist instead. I ate the smaller one I caught that day.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Great fish brother, I have an almost exact story as you from last Thursday except we'd fished the pond before but this time we were allowed to take their little flat bottom out on it. My buddy caught this within 20 minutes of tossing a worm around...9.2 lbs !! Wish I had more pics but its the biggest fish I have ever seen

Nice fish man! Its crazy, Dad and I went there the other night and he caught a 6.25 pounder. So we've both set new PB's out of the same pond in the same week. Awesome!

My largest came out of a tiny pond on my college campus. The pond couldn't have been more than a few acres, but the fish was 8.5 pounds. Definately wasn't expecting to see that come up and inhale my buzzbait.

Biggest bass i ever caught came from a pond..more like a puddle, you could cast aross it easy. I was throwing a beetle spin catchinf tiny yellow belly catfish. We were trying to clean them out. I ended up landing a 9.5lb largemouth.

That fish was released back so hopefully I'll be next in line to feel the force

I caught it back in 1990, so I doubt its still around.

Nice!! Congrats hawghunter.

My grandpa had a place with a 2 acre pond down in Wickliffe KY. As a kid, I fished it a bunch. One night I used his crappie jig kit to make some crappie jigs. We used squirrel & deer hair and painted the heads with my grandma's finger nail polish. The next morning I caught the lower bass on my homeade crappie jig from his pond. His old scale showed just under 5lbs. That was in the summer of 1978..

The bass on top was also caught out of his pond in 1980..I remember my dad dragging me out of bed on a Saturday morning to get on the pond. It was a misty, hot August morning..We paddled around the pond throwing topwaters. This bass attacked my yellow jitterbug around sunup. The old scale showed 7lbs..

The mount with the 2 bass chasing bluegill is from 2003. They were caught on a St. Charles county "small lake" in September at night, 1am and 1:20am to be exact. Both were caught on a black spinnerbait in exactly the same spot. I never did weigh either of them..
