Members fireman Posted August 6, 2010 Members Posted August 6, 2010 on the weekends friday and saturday there is a buffet. its like $10 i think and mostly fried food but good. otherwise its ur typical place little expensive but not bad taste wise. if ur looking for a quick lunch and dont mind going out the park about 10 minute drive i have the best sectret place. called bo's hollow. smoke pork or brisket meal, with chips soda and dessert $5. not bad place to look around at the early 1900's to 1970 era stuff. look them up on line you wont be dissapointed. also if ur looking for a good pizza go out the park right up the road to reeds cabins. really good pizza $10 bucks i think. wish i was going with ya. love montauk fireman
Kayser Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Second the Bo's Hollow BBQ- it's good stuff. It's also a Model T ranch, with a fair amount of vehicles from that era (12, I think). Good place to take kids if you have them with you. Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
jdmidwest Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 The Lodge used to be ok, don't know now as it has changed hands and have not tried it this year. My suggestion would be to go to Licking one night. Follow the road out of the park, make a left at Old Cahills store, follow it out, make another left at the next intersection and eat at the Olig's BBQ on the left. We hit that back in the winter and the food is great. There is another place on south of Licking on the left that is pretty good too. Great breakfast. If you want to travel a little more, Houston or Rolla is a good option too. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

Greg Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I agree with most of the others. The food is good but not exceptional. However I really like the old lodge building. It looks like it's relatively unchanged for the last hundred years. It obviously has a lot of history and a very "fishy ambience". I love it. Greg Plus they have a real fly selection unlike Maramec, and sometimes there is even someone there who can tell you which ones are working. I feel like there store has more of a "fly shop" atmosphere than those at the other trout parks, notwithstanding the fact that they sell Powerbait... The restaraunt does have good burgers, I know that.
