woodman Posted September 8, 2010 Author Posted September 8, 2010 Playing around with the homemade camcleat... Cam cleat made from nylon and the spring from a clothes pin, and 3/8 plywood for a base. This will grab the anchor line and hold it from slipping. http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
woodman Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 First time in the water...It just so happens this Sat. the 11th they had a kayak class behind the store in the pond. Perfect time to show off and initiate the boat. http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/

woodman Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 With 2 of us 300+ lbs. it was really responsive and tracked good also. It was kind of breezy yet we could get it going pretty good into the head wind. It turns a lot easier than the 17'Osagen I have. I am curious to see how it does as a solo. http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
woodman Posted September 15, 2010 Author Posted September 15, 2010 Well took it out yesterday to a local lake with just me in it. Headed up a feeder creek and it got really shallow like a finger's depth and it still wasn't touching, assume the water mark on the hull with just me is 3". One thing I have learned is paddling with a double ended paddle brings water into my lap, even with the drip rings, because the cockpit is 24" wide. I guess the next project will be some kind of fabric deck (spray cover) that ought to be a challenge... http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
