I thought this may be interesting. What favorite lures do you use for white bass in the summer and fall?

Personally, I love to use topwaters such as popr, small spooks and tiny torpedoes when the whites are schooling just for the viciousness of the hits. I also have a buddy that uses a topwater bait with propellers on each end with no hooks but on the back of the bait there is a short line of a couple inches with a jig attached. I have seen him catch a ton of fish on that bait but I cannot find it in any store.

My most favorite is the buck tail jig like the old Beaver Creek Special that you used to be able to get at the marina when Everett and Sue owned it. I still have a few dozen around and use them much of the time. They were so good to me that I hoarded several dozen in many color combos and sizes just in case.

I don't have a favorite but anything goes when I can find them, especially topwater lures. Nothing get the adrenaline going better than a topwater when it flies a couple feet out of the water.

When the action is hot and heavy, I like to use a white road runner. I would say a topwater bait like a pop-r or baby spook, but the fins and gill plates are enough to worry about without having to worry about treble hooks slashing around! I also like a single hook because it is easier to unhook and get back in the water. That is why I go with the road runner.

If you want the same effect as tops and a single hook try a buzzbait. You won't catch as many fish but it is fun.
