Walleyes

Where are these flats that everyone fishes for walleyes? I usually fish from cedar ridge to around the maze creek area and do fair catching walleye of points, but have never fished any flats. I just got my motor tuned up and can finally troll some baits and would like to try these flats if someone could give me some pointers on where to go and what techniques to use.
