My father in law caught this last weekend somewhere below fall creek. He says he thinks its a banded sculpin, I have no clue. What are they and are they invasive or protected?

I second that, both the sculpin and the bait part. I hired a guide in Yellowstone, and he talked about being a kid and using those as bait. That's illegal in Montana, no clue whether its legal down here. But he said he caught his biggest fishing using sculpins as bait.

ON the white in Arkansas they catch them with small hooks off of the boat docks and put them in minnow bucket and hover them over big browns. Very effective but not my cup of tea. It does work I seen a guide out of Sportsman catch several big Browns one week that I was there.

I agree it is a sculpin. And probably exactly the one your FIL thought.

Man I need to start tieing thicker and longer streamers. Chief I've been real busy the last year or so and havent been able to keep up with everything including fishing Tany. I have been able to get my 3 year old out a couple times to fish and now thats all he wants to do and all my 2 year old wants is to get out on the boats so it wont be too long before I get back at it.
