flytyer57 Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Can you identify this fly? I believe it was originally tied as a steelhead pattern. The tail is marabou, the collar is fox fur, the wing is sadle hackles and krytal flash. I lost the pattern for this fly and want to tie up some more. Any info would be greatly appreciated. eric1978 Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Most sculpin recipes should be close enough, no?
flytyer57 Posted August 29, 2010 Author Posted August 29, 2010 Most sculpin recipes should be close enough, no? I actually found the pattern after searching through several magazines. It's called a "Home Invader." There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Randall Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Looks effective. It'll catch a fisherman if not a fish or two. How complicated is the tie? Cute animals taste better.
flytyer57 Posted September 8, 2010 Author Posted September 8, 2010 Looks effective. It'll catch a fisherman if not a fish or two. How complicated is the tie? Not too bad. It was featured in the April/May 2010 issue of Fly Fisherman Magazine. Page 54. Here's the link to a video showing the oringinator tying one up. I was catching smallies on this pattern earlier this year. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
