Nighthawk Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 many thanks to Phil and the crew at Lilley's Landing for their generosity in hosting the annual Project Healing Waters event. a 27" rainbow took big fish honors and lots of trout were caught. thanks, too, to the guides who gave of their time and talent to guide these vets and soldiers. a great meal was served and a good time was had by all!
Danoinark Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Sorry I missed it this year. Just couldn't get it scheduled this time. I had a great time with the guys last year. A worthy cause. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted August 29, 2010 Root Admin Posted August 29, 2010 It was fun. The guys had great weather and fairly good fishing. Early morning fishing was slow but as soon as the wind kicked in, the bite was on. Chuck Gries - what can I say. He flat puts people on fish. This is proof that catch and release works. Gene Collins caught the 27 inch rainbow drifting an egg fly in the trophy area. This same rainbow was caught up closer to the dam on July 6th and released at our dock. The reason I know- it has a bend in the middle of it's back. I commented when the fish was caught in July that it looked like a Naknek, Alaska rainbow. It was released this time at the same place- at our dock.
