txspecks04 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Does anybody know of any good public accesses for wade fishing the Baron Fork Creek in Oklahoma? Thinking about making a first-time trip tomorrow morning...any tips would be appreciated. Thanks, tx
fly2fish Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 I have fished below the Welling bridge just past Talequah. There is also access a little farther at Eldon. F2F
Members Russ Posted September 13, 2010 Members Posted September 13, 2010 I fished at Welling Bridge yesterday. Caught a couple small brownies and a sunfish. I saw a large mouth at least two pounds. Also saw a pretty big small mouth. Any advice on how to catch the bigger ones? I could put the bait right in front of them and they would not bite. Was using a tiny brush hog. I know how to get to the the point where Barron flows into Illinois. You have to know how to get there. It is a maze of country roads and even roads smaller than that. There is a swim hole there so many people party and swim there. Let me know if you want to go some time. I love it there. -Russ
