I saw last night that the BPS outlet has SPOT systems for $49.99. The yearly basic service appears to be $49.99 or $99.99 depending on level.

Has/does anyone use one of these? I am considering one as I do most of my outdooring solo. Any feedback is appreciated.

I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted.

I would check and see what the reception is like. I remember hearing some people debating whether it would beam a signal from under trees, etc. I don't know the answer, but I'd want to know b4 buying.

was it the orange one(OLDER) ,or the yellow one?(NEWER) last year they were free with a 2 years program //one nice feature is you can set them up and have your trip monitored on your home computer so you can mark spots along the way, AND THE WIFE CAN TRACK YOU . AND AT LEAST RESCUE PEOPLE HAVE SOME IDEA OF WHERE TO START LOOKING...have you priced any personal location beacons ? it's hard to find one under $500 and lord forbid you need life support .they will find you faster than timmy and lassie could!!!..... just price a life flight helicopter ride? that a great deal you should jump on it... as a matter of fact you should pick one up for me while your there!!!!!!!!!
