Brian K. Shaffer Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Why no pictures thus far ? Please.. for goodness sakes.. somebody post a pic of this "killer-jig" or "jig's". Might even be news to us here in the Branson / Taneycomo regional waters. But, it's no longer a 'secret'.. believe me. Let's see it - Brian Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.

Members Troutjig.com Posted July 13, 2006 Members Posted July 13, 2006 Brian, for some reason I'm getting an error when trying to post a picture on here. Try this link for the ever so popular green and white rubber-leg jig: http://www.troutjig.com/green_and_white.jpg Here is a picture of the jig I use the most, the green tinsel jig: http://www.troutjig.com/green_tinsel.jpg Here is a link to all of the jigs on our site: Rubber-Leg: http://www.troutjig.com/rprod.asp Tinsel: http://www.troutjig.com/tprod.asp shawncat's description above is correct. all of the jig heads on the internet are hand dipped in powder paint. shawncat - I'm not sure if I should increase the quality of the pics on the site or not. We tried to make it so that the pics would load quickly if someone was on dial-up. I've thought about breaking it up and having better quality pics if the user has a high-speed connection. decisions, decisions
shawncat Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 Checked out your new pictures. They look great. The pics on the site are fine too.A little mystery never hurt anyone. You may sell more jigs and therefore more $$$$ to fish.
Members Troutjig.com Posted July 13, 2006 Members Posted July 13, 2006 very true When is the next time you are going to be at Maramec Springs? If it is before next Sunday the 23rd, we'll have to meet up so you can give me any last minute info I need for the White River. My buddy and I tied up a bunch of flies to use down there. Can't wait!
Center Punch Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 dont know if this has been mentioned already(didnt bother reading other posts) go stand off the swinging bridge with a green and white jig and absolutely slay the fish. when i used to fish with ultralights(about 2-5years ago)i tyed these jigs and hammered the trout. to be 100 percent completely honest, in my opinion, it is just too easy to catch them. i would all the time have people come up and "bug" me about what i was using(this is before the jig got real popular) i really enjoy helping others catch fish so i would give them several jigs and help them in presenting them. i noticed that most people jig it just barely underneath the water surface and dont have the greatest depth perception. you will find especially in the middle of the day that the trout at meramec are not that agressive so you have to bring the jig to their level. it dont matter what trout, as long as you can see it and get a drift to it you can catch it with these rubber band leg jigs. still to this day, even though i fly fish now, everybody and their brother are using the jig and catching a ton of fish. so if you want to go down and catch fish or get a beginner into catching fish, have he/she use this approach. i personally cannot stand this jig anymore just because i am tired of looking at it day in and day out and because i dont even own an ultralight anymore. i will stick to my favorite fly(secret!!!) and see how long it takes for people to catch on. oh! by the way, i have probably about 300 hooks leftover from when i did tie them that if anybody is interested in i will let go for pretty cheap. i will have to check the size, but i know they are not the biggest ones at djs but the one step smaller.(either 1/32 or 1/64). i dont want to sound negative towards the jig but i wish some more people at meramec would make the switch over to the darkside and put a fly rod in their hands. no body has respect for the flyfisherman down there at all. out of all the parks and streams it seems that the people at meramec(not mentioning any names)seem to have the least amount of stream etiquette. oh well. i still think it is hilarious that most of these people will take 4 casts and keep 4 fish in less than 4 minutes and call it a day. what ever happened to catch and release?????? www.troutchapters.com >>>---------->(x) Jared
