Members osuangler Posted September 15, 2010 Members Posted September 15, 2010 I sure hope the river is fishing good! The family is headed up there to spend the rest of the week. Anyone have a report on how it is? I read your latest report Tim , didn't know if any rain has come thru since. Anywho, hope all is well in the world of fishermen. jp Jay Parker An angler is a man who spends rainy days sitting around on the muddy banks of rivers doing nothing because his wife won't let him do it at home. ~Author Unknown
back2roots Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Fishing was very good this past weekend. Water level was fine and very clear. Got most of my hits on a black beetle or Pheasant tail numph. I don't think the rains did much to the bite at all. Have a GREAT trip! Bill If you liked the sound....Thank the engineer!
Fly_Guy Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 hava good trip - I haven't been since it was 105 degrees - I'll probably wait for c&r.
timsfly Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Fished this afternoon a few hours, caught 30 or so, caught most on a small green bodied crackleback, and several on a #18 parachute adams. There are still a lot of fish in the river, and they are bunching up in the back of some of the pools, so thick you can't hardly fish a nymph because if you miss a fish, you'll snag one. I was fishing 7X and 8X tippet, and it did make a big difference dropping to 8x but I did lose a few more flies because of the light tippet.
