Kayser Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Fishing preferred, trout fishing not required. I've heard of Devil's Backbone and Paddy Creek. I didn't know that the Devil's Backbone ran along the North Fork. Is the Big Piney just a warmwater stream (just fine), or is it a trout stream like the Little Piney (even better!) I've heard some really good things about Paddy Creek, but its just a bit toofar for my school's backpacking club to go for on a weekend outing. Are there any main trails that run along the river @ Devil's backbone? That sounds like a really good place if I can get some trout fishing in while hiking. Thanks for the info. Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 ROL has a piece on it. Link= Devils Backbone I believe there's a NFS campground on the edge of it. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
gonefishin Posted July 19, 2006 Author Posted July 19, 2006 I am glad to hear that there are some, hopefully, more agents on the major canoeing waters. When I think of all the pollution that goes into those streams on a busy weekend.... and people actually swim in it. Seems to me there should be a law against there being more than a certain number of people per mile of stream. I would rather be fishin'.
