timsfly Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I fished taney this morning, and the fishing was very good, caught a 6lb brown an hour or so after fishing and and nice suprise a 8lb brown just before I got ready to go this morning, caught them both on a San juan type worm(chamois) in a cream white color. Caught them both on my 6' bamboo that I had just bought a few days ago, and both on 6X floro. I caught fish on small buggers, scuds, san juans, egg patterns, and on small brown beetles, great day for me, it was a good day off. Buzz Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Very nice!!!!! If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
troutfiend1985 Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Tim you have me jealous. Nice fish, hoping to be able to get out and go fishing somewhere in two weeks, until then(and probably even after then) I will be on the computer drooling over these big fish pics I'm seeing. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. duckydoty Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Nice runnin into you down there Tim. We caught lots of fish but nothing over 20". Guess we will have to try again today. I've found that when I go down there during the daylight hours, I do more talking to folks that I haven't seen in a while than fishing. Hey, by the way, did you catch a lot of small bows in the 6 to 8 inch range while you were fishing? I have not seen them that small down there. We caught a bunch of them down at the riffles in front of the rebar. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
vanven Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Sounds like Tim is bringing one of the old Roaring River standby flies to Taney and having some success. Chammy worm always produces for me at RR. -Jerod
timsfly Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 Duane, I only caught 6 browns, the two big ones and the other 4 were all 12-14" all nice and fat, caught mostly rainbows. Members hookinear Posted October 14, 2010 Members Posted October 14, 2010 Ive fished the chamois worm down there several times with decent luck. Mostly when the water was up and drifting it around the banks under an indicator. And most of the fish caught on that worm were decent size. With the water off are you using an indicator? Or just sight fishing it?
timsfly Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 Just sight fishing. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
