Canoe Transportation

What have y'all found as the best way to transport a canoe on the top of an SUV on the highway? Rack system? Foam blocks?

Foam Blocks slide all over the place..I'd get a nice rack from Yakima or Thule. Cheers.

I concur. I now have a factory installed rack that works fine on both of my cars. Before though I used a Yakima. No problems!

I use a Thule system on my Liberty and it works fine, Yakima works fine to. If you opt for the canoe carrying kit from Thule its a breeze. I think Yakima has one also.

I have been a Yakima fan for over 20 years. I have used there systems for everything from bikes to luggage to canoes. You can't go wrong with them

I used the foam blocks one time. What a nightmre. It may have been the way I had t on, but I never tried it again.

Foam blocks work fine for me. The key is having good tie down straps that you can cinch tight.
