Think I solved the Thingamabobber moving on round leader material problem.......I used a 3'-4' piece of Rio Slick Shooter running line as the butt section of my leader on the NFoW last week....its flat profile works great with the Thingamabobber.....easy to adjust...didnt move...very little memory in the material......stiff stuff so it was easy to adjust the wossat...er Thingamabobber.........try it...you might like it. Cheers.

I cut little slits into mine with a razor knife. It makes it slightly harder to adjust and remove, but the plastic sort of pinches the line and holds it. It also avoids the problem of the loop sliding to the top and cinching down on the line coming in and going out. If I move it shallow enough to be on the tippet it is somewhat less effective, but at that point you're better to just take it off and use a palsa.

Cute animals taste better.

Gavin... Have you tried Pac Fly's new version of this type indicator? With the screw in top?

For the spin-cast folks and the 6# and up in fly these are a nice float. easy on and adjustable. You can also ad water as a weight if needed.

I can't say that I have ever used this type of indicator but what is the hype all about?

Pacific Fly is the one who make them. I picked up mine at Reed's, and they worked good for me. and they were only $.50.

AAre you talking about the thingmamabobber? It is a great indicator, easy to cast, floats well, and adjustable. It can slide around on light tippet, but I just shorten my tippet section and attach it the leader...doesn't slide too much for me.

I agree...I haven't had any problems with it sliding up and down the leader. Best indicator I've ever used. I used one of the larger ones on bigger streams like the Yellowstone when I was out in Montana the last couple of months, and the smallest one on Nelson's Spring Creek. Floats well, very visible.
