Starting 6/30/06, our cell phone numbers will be released to telemarketers.

Call 1-888-382-1222 from your cell phone to put a stop/call from these marketers.

Visit http://donotcall.gov to register all other land lines.

It takes 30 days to take affect.

Hey Phil...Is this a nation wide issue or a certain mobile provider? Three months ago I started receiving telemarketers call's, so I called my provider and they said I had Okayed it to have them release my number. Which I never did. She said that she could take care of it. So far, no more telemarketers.

Nationwide. This is a no call program by the gov't. It's for all cell phone companies. If you get calls 30 days after registering with donotcall, you get their company name and phone # and report it to the website or call the 888#. That's what the recording says when you sign up.

It sounds too good to be true. I have not had any calls... yet.

I read your post about the donot call site and about getting telemarkers calls on cell phone.

I went to the site you listed and registered my regular phone and cell phones.

Also I was reading the information about registering and came across this.

What Phone Numbers Can I Register?

10. Can I register my cell phone on the National Do Not Call Registry?

Yes, you may place your personal cell phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry. The registry has accepted cell phone numbers since it opened for registrations in June 2003. There is no deadline to register a home or cell phone number on the Registry.

You may have received an email telling you that your cell phone is about to be assaulted by telemarketing calls as a result of a new cell phone number database; however, that is not the case. FCC regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers don’t call consumers on their cell phones without their consent.

Hope this helps

As someone who worked as a telemarketer for a few different organizations here in Branson, I was told to hang up on purpose by law if I called someone's cell number.

Only if the caller gives you their consent were we ever allowed to call the possible package buyer back on the cell phone number.

I worked for 3 different places. Marriott was the best at keeping up on the regulations to a T.

Too many numbers, too little time int he minds of the 'upstarts'.
