I am not complaining, seems the fishing gets eaiser with lower water levels but at 1114 ft and heavy generation past couple of days I wonder how low they will go this winter.

It has been a long time since I have seen the amp out of the water in Monte NE, do you think it will get that low?

I am betting on 1110ft before spring rains.

It's dropped about 7 inches since Saturday. Don't know what they've got planned, but I'd like to see it stay where its at for a while.

Deffently time to take out the camera and gps, also a great time to drag up some drift wood and tie it down to some big rocks next to those humps. you can even go out and make some rock piles quickly that can become a go to spot next spring.

I've only live here 5 years, but the water is not nearly as low right now as it was the first 2-3 years we were here. I consider this level to be somewhere in the middle, I guess. Would not surprise me to see it drop 10 more feet. Or to see it fill up in a week. Just gotta' roll with it.

But you guys have a great point about noting the structure while it's low. I've been doing that, too.

I emailed the COE a few months back to see what they had to say about the lake draw down. Their response was rather short and lame and claimed the lake was not going to be dropped any more for any repair work. This was when the lake was still at 1116'. the news article from 40/29 says it will continue to drop to elevation 1121.4 feet. http://www.4029tv.com/news/23995451/detail.html i know the article is from early summer, but looks like were close to the mark as this posting its at 1113'.

Right now it is just normal generation and lack of rain and the power comapany can generate down to 1077 ft and the corps has no control over that. The corps can release water when the levels are too high, but low water is not a problem for flood control, the more room to store flood water the better. But I know if it goes much lower the drinking water will get worse and after a while the boat ramps will be hard to use. The last time the lake was down they extended and repaired most of the ramps.

It will probably keep going down until spring gets here and some big rains come. I think its something like 7 inches a week its dropping, but it will steadily increase on the dropage per week because the tributaries are going down. id say she will go down another 8 or 10 feet maybe more. before we get some good rains. sometmes around the first of march or the end of feb we will get some big snows. then when that is melting it comes a big warm front and melts the snow with a big rain that will put some water in there. I like the fishing when the lake is low.
