Stump bumper Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 Well I did drive by the Hickory corps ramp a couple of days ago - it is CLOSED. Yellow tape across the ramp and a couple of barriers, dock is on it's side and out of the water. You could still launch there as the concrete ramp still extends into the water, but I guess with the dock on land they didn't want anyone to launch. However you can launch at the Hickory creek marina for $3. South Ramp or North ramp?
Quillback Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Didn't know there were 2 corps ramps at Hickory, to get to the one I am talking about, when you get past the guardhouse you can either go straight or take a right, if you go straight and follow the road it deadends at the ramp that is closed. Where is the 2nd ramp? I'd like to save $3 since I have a Corps season pass.

Sorry my bad, I read Hickory and was thinking about Horseshoe Bend.....There is a free launch down the road from Hickory creek where Hwy 264 runs into the lake that only comes out of the water when it gets low but I have not checked the condition of the ramp in a while and beaching there is a little risky.
Hogfan Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Hickory has two corps ramps too. Go right through the first guard shack and after you pass the 2nd guard shack it's on your right. It's in the back of the cove so its probably high and dry too. I don't think it has a courtesy dock either.
Members Bass Ivy Posted January 29, 2011 Members Posted January 29, 2011 I hope the ramp by the marina at Hicory Creek is a corps ramp. We have went in there twice and just launched and took off. We never paid anyone. They did come out and talk to us everytime we launched though, but they didnt say anything. We have one of the Annual Corps Passes we carry with us. Ive always thought both of the ramps at Hickory were corps ramps.
Quillback Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 If it's the marina ramp you are using, it's the one that is all concrete and on one side is the dock with the marina office and on the other side is a boat stall. There's also a sign beside the ramp reminding people to pay $3 at the office. You can't miss it. It is definitely not a corps ramp. I pretty sure the annual corps pass is not good there, but maybe I am wrong.

There is another Corps ramp off to the right about 1/4 mile from the Marinia on the right as soon as you pass the second guard house. South Ramp I can't remeber what was wrong with it but I used it a couple times for tournaments at the Marinia then said I wouldn't use that one again but can't remeber why.
Stump bumper Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 Genration is going wide open today, water is dropping fast, I hope this melt off is going to add some water at this rate of generation 1108 is very likely. Be very careful in front of RT12 Bridge that was only 3ft in places going toward the bridge, will have to take the long way around to Praire Creek soon.
Martin Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I know this is the Beaver Lake forum, but Tablerock hit 9 feet low this morning. And they are running quite a lot of water....If not continually, at least several hours a day, off & on.....

With cold temps and no rain looks like it may drop a few more feet before spring.
