Members STL Angler Posted January 5, 2011 Members Posted January 5, 2011 I've been reading this forum for about a week and finally decided to join. I have fished for bass almost all my life, but last summer I made my first trip to Meramec Springs. I had a blast with spinning tackle, and I'm looking forward to bringing my fly rod down soon. I'll take all the advice I can get, especially fly-fishing tips. I look forward to chatting with all of you in the future. Tight lines, Ryan

Members STL Angler Posted January 5, 2011 Author Members Posted January 5, 2011 I'm actually from Wentzville, but I usually just say St. Louis since most people I talk to east of Chesterfield have never heard of Wentzville, Foristell, Warrenton, etc.
Gatorjet Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Welcome to the forum. You have a wealth of information at your fingertips here. Not only current topics, or questions you ask, but so much in past posts. Enjoy yourself with the fly fishing at Meremac Springs. However keep in mind that Taneycomo also offers some really great fishing. Great fly fishing below Table Rock dam when the generation is not prohibitive, and your spinning tackle and bass fishing expertise are easily adapted to some really fun trout fishing throughout the lake. I am also from one of those places that is easier described as St.Louis. Who knows where High Ridge is anyhow? LOL Good fishing, and welcome, Bob Real men go propless!

Welcome to the forum. You sure you want to start that fly fishing thing????? You'll get a really bad fever! A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Members STL Angler Posted January 6, 2011 Author Members Posted January 6, 2011 Well I already have the bass fishing bug so what's one more addiction LOL. I spend most of my time fishing local streams for smallmouth, but at least once every year I head down to Branson to fish on Table Rock and Taneycomo. I had a lot of fun on Taneycomo with my spinning rod, and I'm really looking forward to bringing a fly rod down this spring or summer.
