Greg Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Fished Bennett today for a few hours from about 1:30 to 4:00 PM. The fishing was decent. Caught around 15. Nothing big mostly around 12". The nice thing though was that I almost had the place to myself. I think I only saw 3 or 4 other fisherman. Lots of fish. Also saw a couple of huge rainbows. I'm looking forward to the winter C&R season. I hope it stays reasonably warm like it did last winter. Members Simsmarine Posted December 12, 2005 Members Posted December 12, 2005 Wow, I'm suprised by the lack of company you had today. It was a nice day, wonder what kept everyone away ? It's almost creepy there when the crowds are gone isn't it. Kinda makes you feel like your doing something illegal. Thanks for the report. I'll be on the Niangua tomorrow (Mon.) for the first time this winter, and maybe again Tues. if it goes good.
Greg Posted December 12, 2005 Author Posted December 12, 2005 You hit the nail on the head. When I first arrived and started fishing there was not another angler in sight and it was a little creepy and I had a brief moment of thinking that maybe the park was really closed. But overall it is just wonderful to be away from the crowds in the winter. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 12, 2005 Root Admin Posted December 12, 2005 Hey- should I include the Niangua River with the Bennett forum? Or should I make the Niangua a separate forum?
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I would combine them Phil. I think those that fish the river also fish Bennett. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
