New Cottages And Web Site Updates

I know a few guys noticed that we recently bought some rental cottages to go along with our canoe rental and guide service. I just wanted to officially announce it here now that our web site has been updated. Please go to www.11pointcanoe.com to see the updates. Click the camping and lodging link to see the cottages and get info on them. The fishing and guide service page has been updated as well. Also, the maps and directions page has been redone and the confusing mapquest function removed and replaced with actual directions. I would appreciate any feedback on the changes.

Also, our email address has changed to canoe@ortrackm.org. We did not want to change it, but had no choice. Sorry for any inconvenience to anyone who has our email saved. Hope no one is offended by the plug.

Looks great man! The wife and I are planning some weekday getaways, this should sway us that way (permitting reservations are available)... Planning on offering any package deals on two or three day stays with guide trips and/or canoe rentals included?

I was thinking how cheap they were, you are getting a WHOLE HOUSE for that price. He has to clean the house after each visitor and do linens, etc. By the time he hires someone to do this for him, if he doen't have time to do it himself, he is barely making any money on them at all, not to mention I bet he had to buy them in the first place.

Unfortunately we have a mortgage on these cottages that did not exist for the previous owners, plus we have greatly expanded the satellite tv offerings and two of the cottages have free wifi. We have been doing some painting and upgrades on furniture that needed replacing. All while trying to keep the rates reasonable. I hope most will agree. We are still cheaper than most hotels in St. Louis or for that matter, hotels in West Plains.

How do you know so much about the economics of outfitting and lodging on beautiful Missouri rivers? Haha! Bring Amy and the kids over sometime in the off-season and we can let the women have fun while we fish!

Just saying - affordability is major advantage for some who frequent the area. I wonder if the new owners would consider offering discounts for children under 16 to keep it as a cheap getaway for families.
