Bman Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 This really inspires me to get my grandkids fly fishing this summer. Thanks for the great post. The only good line is a tight line
Brian Wise Posted February 8, 2011 Author Posted February 8, 2011 Thanks so much guys. The double hauling is something I honestly worked with him for maybe 10 minutes several months ago....we were at Dry Run last week and he wanted to go cast in the grass and while he was casting I yelled over to him "Hey, Double Haul!!" and HE DID!! So after a little freaking out I grabbed the video camera. My Youtube Channel
Bman Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Killer. That editing where you threw Carter was perfect. I'm getting a GoPro and some software this year...you're gonna have to learn me some stuff. I think I might look into one of those GoPro's myself! My Grandkids fishing, winter Smallie's, Browns in the Fall, and skinny water jet boating! Just what set ups and software to get though, any suggestions??? The only good line is a tight line
Gary Lange Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 That is the first time I have watched that and I was impressed with the concentration and the reflexes they have. I can tell they really love Flyfishing and being out doors. They get older and you won't see them hanging around the house with the video games. You are a good father for sure. Respect your Environment and others right to use it!

Exactly what we are looking for Gary....honestly, at this point we don't even care if they grow up to be amazing fly fisherman--just outdoorsman of some kind (although I'm pretty sure they are going to like fly fishing.) It's kind of funny, the eldest is already talking about white bass on the fly and can't wait until spring. I guess that double haul will be coming in handy when that rolls around. Justin Spencer Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Looks like we better groom our kids for some kind of job in the outdoors because they sure aren't getting any smarter this winter with all this cancelled school. Members Jack Hollister Posted February 9, 2011 Members Posted February 9, 2011 You are a great father to 1, introduce your kids to fishing..2, take the time to teach them to fish..and 3, take the time to take them fishing. I wish all kids could have parents to give them the opportunity to experience life’s great adventures. Those days will be memories you kids will cherish for a lifetime. You can tell they are there for the love of fishing and not just there to please dad. Great job on raising two fine young men. Oh and great job on the video.

Starting to feel like your kids name is Jake on "Two And A Half Men"? There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
Justin Spencer Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 We've got minute to win it games going on all over our house, quarters flying everywhere, ping pong balls, you name it it's a dangerous place to be. Now we're getting valentine's boxes ready for school in case they ever go back. Can't convince them to shovel the deck, but I'll keep trying. Brian Wise Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 3 words Justin....Stir....CRAZY....KIDS!! Sure, they look like 2 cool little guys while they are fly fishing but get them cooped up in the house for a couple of hours and it's all over. Little brother is the silent "I'll kill you in your sleep" kind of dude while big brother is the loud "I'm really not that tough" kind of guy---little brother typically wins the arguments/fights.
