I own about 15 Loomis rods and am not thrilled about the warranty change. I do, however, have the gut feeling that the change is more posturing than anything. I think they are trying to eliminate the guy who breaks his rod because it has a bad guide or 2 and is old...$50 was just too easy. It will be interesting to see if anyone gets turned down based on the new "one replacement per rod."

I agree they did it because of abuse by some customers. However, it is very insulting to be punished for something someone else did. They should have found a better way to deal with the abuse, like limiting the number of times a year a person could use the service. Or requiring reciepts and it being original owners only.

The rod I started this thread about wa soriginally bought about 5 years ago. Been a very good rod... this was the second time I broke it. The first time I used the expiditor service so I figured they would not allow it this time. I only used the rod once after I got it back before I broke it again. I sent it back fully expecting to have to buy a new rod at full price. I was very pleased to find them so willing to help me out!
