Members JimmyBaja Posted February 12, 2011 Members Posted February 12, 2011 Looks like a break in the weather and some folks are finding ways to get out.
rps Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 The skim ice around my boat slip has not quite melted. I will go out tomorrow with intent of throwing jigs in creek arms. I know it's too early, but what the hey.

rps Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 I am figuring the surface water temp is right at 35 degrees right now. Deeper the temp is around 39. (According to an article I read long ago, cold water sinks etc. until at about 38 it starts to rise as it becomes ice.) True the water coming in from melt will be in these same ranges, but by tomorrow afternoon, the edge water on the north banks will be a touch warmer, I hope. Of course, I could be wasting my time. I will report what I find.
Donna G Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 We drove over from Bella Vista this morning and didn't get on the water until 1 p.m. Lowest temp we found was 40.1 and most of the water we fished was 42-43 degrees. We were down the lake.
