bobber Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 the road into steel creek and kyle's landing are closed. the snow melt made them a slick red mud mess. we floated from erbie to pruitt ,cloudy green water color but a great day on the river. <*)))))))>< * AMERICAN CANOE ASSOCIATION CERTIFIED CANOE, and SWIFT WATER RESCUE INSTRUCTOR.*
tjulianc Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I see that at the gauge, which I think is at the 14 bridge (Harriet) the Buff is flowing at over 900 cfs. I'm not planning on going, but as a point of reference for future, would this be too high to float? I'm thinking about 14 down to Rush.

bobber Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 there aren't any rapids at the upper levels just fast moving water. in other words you just steer no paddling needed ! i want to say i have paddled it in the 11 to 12 Ft. range loaded down with camping gear without and problems at all. you center the river, and stay in the middle. but if in doubt call an outfitter on that section. would be best ! <*)))))))>< * AMERICAN CANOE ASSOCIATION CERTIFIED CANOE, and SWIFT WATER RESCUE INSTRUCTOR.*

gotmuddy Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 The river was nice at 650cfs, a little low for the riverboat. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
