Members walleyefishing Posted February 21, 2011 Members Posted February 21, 2011 I am wanting to hire a guide for fishing walleye on Stockton lake. I want to know if anyone has used any guide and who would anyone recommend. And what is the best time to go.
Thunderin Gobbler Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I have never walleye fished with a guide on Stockton. But I did go with Marty Thompson (Thompson's Fishing Guide Service) last year on a bass trip. He's really knowledgeable on the lake and would be a good one to talk to. The other one I would recommend is Bob Bennett (Stockton Lake Guide Service). He would be a great one to talk to as well. Bob has provided us with a ton of insight and tips on this forum and from what I hear would be a great guide to go with too.
Gilly Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I've heard great things about both of them. I was fortunate enough to be able to book Bob Bennett last year. Had a blast, fishing was great....hang onto your hat! I do know Bob is on vacation but was getting back this week.(He's helping me set up my home in Stockton as a vacation rental. As I'm finding out, Bob is a wealth of information and resources.) www.drydock516.com
shockley32 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Stockton Lake Guide Service - Bob Bennett. www.fishstocktonlake.com I've been with Bob numerous times - you'll catch fish but more important will not lack for entertainment and develop a friend. Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?
dennis boatman Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 First of May till October. 15-25 foot of water along bluffs and off points. Harness rig with nightcrawler bouncing off the bottom. You'll catch plenty. A strike indicator is just a bobber...

Members clf989s Posted March 1, 2011 Members Posted March 1, 2011 I hired Bob Bennett last September and had a great time on Stockton. Landed what was the biggest fish I had ever caught to that point, but more than anything else learned the lake which lead to future success on the lake. Well as much future success as a first year angler could hope for
