I've got cabin fever, and was itching to see if there's any Crappie action yet? I tend to haunt the Glaize Arm, so if anyone's had any luck around there; speak up!

-

We've got plenty of great spots around there, so I don't need specifics; I would just prefer not to waste a day off heading down, if things aren't turnin' on yet.

-

Or if you want to brag and be specific, you can be real stealthy, and shoot me a PM. :ninja::lol:

(There's rumblings of a crappie bite on Table Rock is why I ask. LOZ is just twice as close for me)

Dont be shy! Speak up. ;)

We had 44 on Sunday on a half day guide trip. We could have hit 45 (our 3 limits) but it was my mistake. They still had a great time. So yeah, they're biting.

One piece of advice is that they are not everywhere, you might hit some of your best spots, not catch anything, and start to think that fishing is bad. But when you finally find them, they are loaded up! And I mean stacked in there.

Pretty deep, give or take around 20ft. Close to brush, jigs and minnows are both working, I prefer jigs. At times they want it just held still. At least until you get them fired up.

My fish have been coming from the main lake too. Haven't been up the Glaize much this year. But I did catch a mess pretty close to PB2 a few weeks ago.

holy Cow guys, thanks for the info. Sorry it took a bit to reply, I didn't get the e-mail message there were replies! (DOH!)

Sounds things are definitely picking up. And not a moment too soon, I'm tired of this cold weather! GGGGggggrrrrr.......

YET? They haven't stopped biting unless there was ice and you could not get to them. They are stacked if you hit the right spot and, contrary to some opinions, you do not have to fish deep even in water below 40 degrees. The dirty water could change things a little.

I just hadn't been seeing the reports like when the action really gets moving.

My boss likes to crappie fish, but he's a catcherman, not a fisherman (see: 'high maintenance'), so I'd like to get down when things are really hoppin'.

Keep that info a comin'! Thanks. :goodjob:

Sent my brother in law down over the weekend and gave him 4 spots. There were fish on 2 of them and they caught their 45 (3 people) pretty easy, but they are stacked up so there is a lot of dead water. When that water is 55-62 is when they will be "easy" to catch, if there is such a thing.

Fished yesterday water temps were from 45 to 48. We started out with jigs and caught about 20 then we went to look for some bass spots for our club tourney next week. Fishing seconds with jerkbaits and we pulled on a point that was stacked with crappie 14 to 15 inchers. Then we wished we hadn't started with jigs, took us about 10 minutes to get those last fish and we were still catch em when we left em. Not that I'm complaining but it's had to have 9 inchers in the box and throw back 14's. ;) I know tough problem to have.

With the weather forecast for next week it's only going to get better.

WOW! Any additional info on what you were doing? Heading out to the lake this Sunday and would love to bring home a mess of crappie. Last year was my first time ever fishing crappie and i did relatively well fishing the docks. I would love to know how to pull them off deep piles with jigs or even pull plugs for them. Thanks!
