smallmouthjoe Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Hello everyone, Me and some of my buddies are going to BS this Friday and fishing around the Cedar Creek Area. I was wondering if anyone had been fishing down that way lately. I've don't have that much experience on this lake but I do have a lot of time put in on Table Rock this time of year and was planning on approaching Bull Shoals the same way. Suspending Jerkbaits, swimming a grub, float and fly near bluff ends and channel swings. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks and take care. I should add that I will mainly be targeting bass, but I would love to have any info on other species that are biting right now.
Dutch Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Depending on what kinds of structure you like, you may want to venture on down toward K Dock. I have caught a lot more blacks down that way than I have above it.
Sam Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I agree. The area around Cedar Creek is sandy flats, not very deep. That'll be even more the case with the water so low now. For bass, I think you'd do better by heading downstream to find rocky banks, steeper drop offs, and flooded timber.
nxs Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 We were there yesterday and they were catching some whites. We caught some small blacks, in about 12' of water close to the bottom. Water temp had dropped, 46* I think it was. Just alot of trash in the water in places, mostly where we wanted to fish. Water looked to be up foot or better. Found some water in Beaver Creek that was 51* along with a 17 1/2" walleye but that was the closest we came to a keeper of any kind.
