Members cant buy a walleye Posted March 2, 2011 Members Posted March 2, 2011 Due to health problems I have a boat for sale. The boat is a l989 Lowe 1600 alum boat. Two adult life jackets, one medium, one cushion throwable and one for a small dog. One oar. New never used anchor with 100ft of new anchor rope. Landing net. One night fishing light with green and white lense covers. Spare prop that come on the boat. It is a SS prop. Bow mounted trolling motor. Has two 6 gallon tanks with one small two gallon tank in case I forgot to fill the tanks and ran out of gas because I never did figure out how to walk on water. Has a Humminbird 728 sonar that is GPS capable. I bought this last summer and works very well. It does not have the GPS chip in it as I don't know how that works but is available from Humminbird. Motor is a 1989 40hp Evinrude two cycle. Was tuned up last fall. Has tilt and trim. Motor runs well and planes this boat easily. have not had any problems with it. I have a unopened gallon of Quicksilver premium 2-cycle outboard oil. Has a SS prop as a spare. I bought a new Alum prop because I wasn't sure the pitch was right on the SS prop. The trailer is a 1992 E-Z loader model EZB 14-17 roller trailer. Tires were new last spring and comes with a new spare that hasn't been on the ground. All lights work. The only thing that is needed for this boat to hit the water is to mix some gas and if you want to use the bow mounted trolling motor you will need to buy a battery for it. I seldom used it. The battery for it was rather small and got to where it wouldn't hold a charge. I was going to buy one this year before I went to the lake just to have a spare battery. I am asking $3500.00 cash for it. It is in the garage now. If anyone that is serious about buying this boat I can bring it to the twin bridges boat ramp if you want to look at it. If the weather is cold I won't be able to bring it until it is a rather nice day as some of the medication I am on makes cold really bother me.
straw hat Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Sorry to hear about your declining health. I will pray for you. Also, there is a seperate section on the forum for selling boats, don't forget to list it there as well.

Members Basstard Posted March 10, 2011 Members Posted March 10, 2011 Hey Bleeding Shiner, sorry to hear you are getting out of fishing from a boat on a regular basis. I have a bad boat jones so I tend to buy and sell quite a bit. I have had really good luck selling boats on Craigslist. I live in the Joplin area so I aways post them in both Joplin and Springfield. The real keys to Craigslist success are as follows: 1) Be very descriptive about all of the options the boat has. 2) Be brutally honest in your description about ANY flaws that it has - when someone comes to look at it, make sure to show them the flaws. 3)Post lots of photos. Craigslist allows you to post 4, but I always upload as many as 40 more to a public web site like Photobucket.com or Picasaweb.com (both are free). You will need to take digital photos in a fairly low quality setting (i.e. no more than 2 mega pixels) as you will have difficulty uploading them. 4) Either take the time to clean the boat up yourself or pay someone to do it for you. A clean boat always sells better. 5)If there is anything that is not working properly, you'll need to weigh the cost to get it fixed vs. how much less you will have to sell it for. Clearly, you will get the most money for boats that are clean, have newer batteries and tires and on which everything works. One final thought, this is the time of year where you will get the most for your boat so don't be afraid to ask on the high side of what it's worth. I wish you the best of luck!
