This is a link to a nice article about opening day, but it has a nice slide show of pics. Hope you enjoy. All I got out of it was a case of trout fever.

I couldn't fish with that many people. My trip to the Current last weekend was a prime example. The first few hours were wonderful, my fishin bud and I were the only two on the river. On towards noon, a group of six walked up through to fish a hundred yards above us. They were polite and made their way on up without any incident, but it still irked me to have to share "my" river.

I think I may be antisocial.

This is good stuff! I've fished for trout in an Urban Lake in Arizona, with my grandkids. The Arizona program is very good.

One thing about your slide presentation that is very disappointing...where are the kids? I saw a few, but the ratio of adults to kids stinks. Kids should be the prime emphasis on occasions like this. Next year the rule should be: Adults can fish if they bring a son, or a daughter, or a grandkid, or a neighbor kid. Then it would really be an outstanding program.

Somehow, seeing a bunch of old geezers with hundreds of dollars worth of trout gear on, standing shoulder to shoulder, fishing for large trout, just does not turn me on. Where are the kids who can't afford the stuff to wade, but can't fish from the bank becauise the adults have put up a shoulder-to-shoulder wall out in the water?

This wasn't my presentation. It was from a local newspaper. I'm in IL.
