I read the results of the poll... may be we should do our own poll.

My wife went to see Al Gore's flick the other day. She said it was informative, all except Al's part (we're not big Al Gore fans). She said if it wasn't for the fact that Al was such a big part of it, more people would go see it- not have pre concieved ideas about it's political slant.

I haven't paid a whole of attention to it to be very honest... may be I should. It's hard to know who and what to believe in this politically charged climate our country is in.

World (Christian publication) came out with a positive opt-ed on the documentary- that's saying something.

I guess I'll go see it. Gosh, I haven't had time to even go see Cars yet! Did see the new pirate movie- a let down if you ask me. First one was much better.

Very interesting poll. I agree with most of the outcomes, but I must be honest; I didn't expect those results. I hope this poll and it's outcomes will go somewhere (to someone) that can now take it to the next level.

My question is whether we know how urgent Gloabal Warming might be, is it more urgent then the prescription drugs and other chemicals that we, our children and grandchildren ingest now?

Our are priorities the same as those who preach our demise at the hands of Global Warming?

I'll be the first in line to buy a F150 crew cab that runs on hybrid technology or fuel cells getting 50 - 60 mpg or better w/ enough power to pull a bass boat at 80 mph down the interstate. But I'm not quite ready to load my family of 5 in a 2 seater hybred that has the power needed to pull itself.

I think if the techology was available, someone would produce it and offer it for sale.

The whole global warming topic is interesting. I cant help but wonder; it is known that the world was once warmer than it is now and that the ice age changed that. How do we know the world isn't just getting back to its natural state?

I would rather be fishin'.

I have read that the world has not been this warm for four hundred years. Environmentalists blame it on greenhouse gasses produced by man's cars, factories, power plants etc. Since none of these things were around back then, what WAS around four hundred years ago that made it so warm?

I don't really know all about the greenhouse gases and such but I did think Al Gores plan to insert baloons into the posterior ends of cattle was rather amusing. I dont know about everyone else here but I was raised on a farm and I can guarentee there are some cattle out there that would rigorously resist this procedure. Heh heh

You are kidding, .....right? I mean about Al not the cows resisting.

No. I am not kidding. He wants to, or at least wanted to, put ballons in cow butts so any methane gas emissions could be collected and properly processed or otherwise disposed of. I guess mother nature dont know how to handle it.

Personally, I'd love to see more alternative fuel sources become available, but I feel the politics of getting them to the market place may make this a much longer process than it needs to be. By politics I mean lobbyists for industries that would rather not see them. As for whether global warming is happening, I tend to believe the scientific community on this one. The vast majority thinks this is the case, so I tend to go along with them. Unfortunately, those who don't agree tend to just dismiss them as environmental loonies (not everyone, but a lot with loud voices do) rather than trying to solve the problem. Unfortunately, in my line of work I need powerful trucks to pull our trailers, but would love to switch over to something (maybe ethonol) when we can get the technology available in our neck of the woods.
