Members jim laing Posted March 5, 2011 Author Members Posted March 5, 2011 I also have some unfinished business, so maybe we will see you on the water. We didn't see any other fish landed Thursday and everyone we talked with blanked. One of the guides did have a good day yesterday, so now wish we had stayed overnight (boat in the shop). If 12 boats are throwing big red rattle traps, I'm using small and any other color. I seriously think number of casts and location is more important than color and your bait needs to be a shad pattern. Good luck guys - let's see some muskie reports!
Kayser Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Just out of curiosity, what line/leader setup are you using? I'm gonna be hitting Kinkaid hard for crappie over spring break in a couple weeks, but would also like to try casting at muskie if I get my limit early, or can't find them at all. Thanks, Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
Members T Hood Posted March 15, 2011 Members Posted March 15, 2011 Nice looking fish. Two in a day this far south; well done. Glad you had a good time, and kudos for playing peacemaker. You've added another Illinois lake to my "to go" list. Many thanks.
