DChance Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 How tricky is it to run up the Pomme River when the water is at normal pool? Right now it is 6 ft high so we were able to make it to the PP bridge pretty easily, but noticed where many areas woul have little water at normal pool.
Dutch Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Not only some shallow places like above that row of docks but stickups just barely under the water at pool and sudden channel changes make it a little tricky but not as bad as going up the Lindley. I might be able to pm you a map with a trail on it if you want me to try. I'm not sure if I can or not.
DChance Posted March 7, 2011 Author Posted March 7, 2011 Dutch I would love if you could help me out with a path to take......I have a pretty good idea after going up there this weekend, but the high water made it easy on me. I used my gps for a general idea of the channel swings, but it is the shallow water and stick ups I worry about. Haven't tried to make my way up the Lindley yet....you have a path for it? Do you like it better up there or the Pomme?
Dutch Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 I don't like the Lin near as much as the Pom. There are a lot more good fish in the Pom as far as I am concerned and a lot more territory to fish.
DChance Posted March 8, 2011 Author Posted March 8, 2011 thanks, just by looking at the map, it seems as there is a much more defined channel and better fishing structure.
Members jamesedward Posted March 8, 2011 Members Posted March 8, 2011 I guess this is why we love America cause I find you catch a much better quality amount of fish on the lindley side. The Pomm side is twice as big but during tournament weight in's you can ask and you will hear I believe 65% of the time that the bigger fish always come out of the Lindly side. Just my believes after fishing Pomm for some 30 plus years
Trav Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I do just as well in both arms. I will focus more on the Pomme arm during high water and in the spring. There are more pea gravel shores to play with. I like Lindly in the heat of the summer. There are more mid lake humps to work on. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
