drew03cmc Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Al, nobody insinuated you have edited or deleted some of those posts, but the way it was presented by an apparent attorney was that you would like to get rid of some opposing posts regarding something you are very passionate about. Is that wrong? Andy
Danoinark Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 G I think it's too bad that some threads have been closed rather than the offending posts being deleted, but that's by far the simplest way to do it. There will often be hard feelings if a post is whacked and the poster feels singled out. Since Phil asked me to help Admin this forum from its inception that is one of the things I have tried to do, especially offensive words or phrases. Many times I would send the poster a message and give him the opportunity to do edit his own post. Typically I would only edit the word and leave the remainder of the post intact. Its difficult to follow each thread and we also rely on others to point out issues. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Trav Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Geez, guys, can't believe we can argue like crazy about figuring out how to cut down on arguments! Having, as Tim said, some experience moderating on another site, I know it isn't easy. I think the most important thing is that the moderator has to be on the board about every day, and stay on top of things, or else the train wreck happens before the engineer gets the warning. Other than that, the most important thing is to be fair. Everybody here probably knows my views on a lot of political subjects, but nobody ever accused me of editing out the stuff I didn't agree with, and nobody has ever accused Phil of that, either. I think it's too bad that some threads have been closed rather than the offending posts being deleted, but that's by far the simplest way to do it. There will often be hard feelings if a post is whacked and the poster feels singled out. I would volunteer to do some of the moderating, since I AM on here most days, but that's entirely Phil's decision. I will help ya Al...just say the word.... Fly_Guy Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Generally, PM if you are upset. You'll usually end up having a profitable exchange with a person more intelligent than yourself. At least, I've found that to be true. Trying to attack someone's politics is like trying to say that your pig is cleaner than your neighbors pig, and no one comes out looking better by it. The conservation board is tricky - and as such should be left entirely up to the moderators. We're just guests on this site. And also, hi from N. Carolina - the trout are excellent here as well. (will post pics here in a bit)

Is that wrong? Drew, I took Tim's comment about your spotted bass posts to be tongue in cheek. Heck, if I didn't have you to argue with on that subject, I'd be arguing with myself! (and since I'm not a moderator here it's a moot point.)
kevthebassman Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 The limit on smiley faces is 30... Is that the daily limit, or total possession?

I am glad I fill a vital role...nobody wants to be the crazy guy in the corner losing an argument with themselves... Andy
ozark trout fisher Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Has anyone been fishing lately? I went out this evening on the winter trout pond near my house-got five fish on a Olive woolly-3 rainbows and 2 bluegills. Nice warm evening to be on the water.
drew03cmc Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Yep, hit Crane this morning and caught three McClouds. Andy
