timsfly Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Caught the first 30 or so on a deer hair pellet fly, up by the hatchery, that got old kinda quick so I went into the C&R area, it was great, caddis, blue wing olives and griffiths gnats worked really well, I only landed another 10 fish but the last one was a nice 4lb 20" er I caught on a brown beetle. Then I fished Crane on the way home, fished just below the ball park and caught 5 in about an hour of so of fishing, buggers and san juan worms worked best for me at Crane today, saw 4 deer, and I think they were attack deer, because they nearly ran me down Here is the fat little rainbow I caught at R.R. this morning. mic Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 That is what one calls a good day. Thanks for the report.
Members rvconrad Posted March 11, 2011 Members Posted March 11, 2011 Sounds like you had some fun today. I'll give it a try again tomorrow. Ralph
Andrew324 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 I also made it down to the park on Monday. Had a blast fishing the catch and realease as well, sight fishing those big ones in that zone is way more fun trying to trick dinks into nipping a glo ball. I even went up to the hatchery to get a lunker trout patch after releasing this big momma. Andrew Nelson Outdoor Adventures Graduate Assistant Campus Recreation Missouri State University
