Members walker04 Posted March 14, 2012 Members Posted March 14, 2012 took the kayak to Taylor Bridge. About 15 cars there. I went upstream and caught one decent white bass and several small ones. Did not see anyone else catch a fish and many had been there all afternoon. going to steel bridge on Thursday, hopefully warm weather will have moved the Whites down by then. I got ants in my pants ready to catch em! Thanks for the report, Boatman!
Members Big Bass Shawn Posted March 14, 2012 Members Posted March 14, 2012 I was fishing at taylors today for 3 hours and caught approx. 18 white bass, took 6 home with me. I also caught 3 largemouth and a walleye. I was wading to get to several pockets but the whites are there. I did catch mostly males, but did catch a few big females as well. I was using a yellow rooster tail all day. There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

Members walker04 Posted March 16, 2012 Members Posted March 16, 2012 went to steel bridge thursday...25 fish all in all. 7 worth keeping, only 3 worth writing home about. my buddy caught about the same, except he caught 3 crappie. 1 over 13"!! I was kinda shocked about that. White or Chartruese rooster tail all day long.
Members Perch assassin Posted March 17, 2012 Members Posted March 17, 2012 Do the whites bight well after dark.
vonreed Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Three of us went up there last night. Everybody was catching a few it seemed and there were lots of people. It's my first time ever fishing up there. Spots were tough to find but we finally found a spot to stand. A few people across the river were killing them in a little hole for a while until they left right about dark, so I went over there and ended up catching 6 whites and a crappie, then they got kinda slow after dark. Lots of small males being caught, I only caught 1 sow.
