Members The Southerner Posted March 17, 2011 Members Posted March 17, 2011 Looks like Friday and Saturday are going to be nice days, so I'm sure we'll see y'all at the lake, but it does bode a quick report request. Has anyone ever tried East Sugarloaf Creek or Bear Creek this time of year (spawn)? I'm sure the River Run Area will be getting hot, or is already, but we are just thinking of something new. Half the fun of fishin is the hunt for new grounds. Y'all enjoy!
BrianS Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Both creeks get pounded to death anymore. I used to fish them both alot mostly for bass but would catch a few walleye. HOOK 'EM HORNS
slider Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Fished at Bear Creek yesterday wound up with 30 something white's and 1 crappie. We caught 2 walleye both short. DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!
Members naru70 Posted March 21, 2011 Members Posted March 21, 2011 Where do you put in to fish Bear creek? Do you have to wade or is it accessible from the bank?
slider Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 You can fish from the bank, and most of the boats just back of of the gravel bars. DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!
tjulianc Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Is the boat traffic too heavy to fish safely out of a canoe if putting in further up the Bear creek, say around Lowery? What about floating down to the lake from the 14 bridge on Bear Creek? Thanks.
taxidermist Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Pretty long slow float from the bridge to Lowery, best bet would be put in at Lowery and paddle up until you find the whites. rumor said yesterday there were small males white near the island caught from the Crumpler side.
slider Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Did you see any suckers? DONT EVER GIVE UP MOSES WAS A BASKET CASE ONCE!
