Thunderin Gobbler Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 I am planning on heading up to the lake tomorrow afternoon. I have a safety meeting for the kids in our youth hunt in the morning and then I thought I'd try my luck at finding some fish. I was planning on either crappie or bass fishing. Maybe either Roark or CC. Do any of you have any recommendations? I don't normally get to fish this early in the year, so I know it'll be slower than what I'm used to.
Members gee3 Posted March 18, 2011 Members Posted March 18, 2011 T.G.,Try soft plastic on a shakey head in about 7-8 ft. of water for bass, leave the stickbaits and the wart in the box.I fish the other end of the lake, have been doing well with the plastic for the last couple of weeks. Took my granddaughter yesterday , we caught fish until we ran out of spots to fish due to the wind. Had one LM over 4 and one over 6,several nice keepers. Good luck.
Thunderin Gobbler Posted March 18, 2011 Author Posted March 18, 2011 Thanks Gee3, I am glad to hear the soft plastics are doing well. They are kinda my "specialty". Well, that's about all I use atleast. Haven't done much fishing with stickbaits so I think I will take your advice.
