flytyer57 Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Exactly.... There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
jdmidwest Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 What I think is funny is how, in order to attempt to make the suit stick, the guy not only has to rack up an enormous medical bill (90k, seriously?) but also has to prove what a wimp he is by claiming that he continues to suffer... And heck, for all I know he does still suffer... But how can he possibly hold the company accountable and think it'll stick? Copperhead venom attacks and breaks down the tissue, so he probably does have some lasting damage. If you have ever seen anyone bitten, you would understand. And at today's overpriced medical rates, 90k is probably right. But. I doubt if the snake was packaged up during the manufacturing process. It probably climbed in a nice open bag of dirt left out to warm in the sun. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

I have seen copperhead bites and the damage they do (I posted on here a few years back about my families experience with the copperhead bite followed by salems incorrect treatment which resulted in further doctors visits and it STILL didn't add up to 90k), but before I get carried away replying to the first paragraph I'll mention that I completely agree with the second one... cricket.c21.com

Like I said, "at today's overpriced rates". Our healthcare went up 37 percent this year on our existing plan, which we dropped like a hot potato. Now we have a crappier one, a PPO, which only accepts doctors in Bangledish. I hope I don't get sick this year. We were given a new card, I asked what our coverage is now, I just got this "look". No books or policies, just big lettering on the card that if you need to use it, call 1-800-000-0000 to see if it is approved in the PPO. Njardar Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Last year I had to replace my well pump and being a relatively shallow well it was easy to release the black flexible piping and pull all 32 ft out by hand. All I had to do was just keep backing up in a straight line so the flexible pipe could lay on the ground. When that was done I started cutting the electrical tape that held the pump wires to the flexible pipe...that was until the flexible pipe became soft and squeshy. That was when I jumped back 10' with a high pitched scream (never knew I could hit that note). So if I'm reading this thread correctly the snake came out of the well and was there since the last time the pump was replaced... got to figure out whom to sue. - Charlie P.S. Forgot to add it was a garder snake not a copperhead
FishinCricket Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Lol, let us know how that goes, Charlie... Say, since it was your well, couldn't you just sue yourself ad collect damages from your insurance company? cricket.c21.com
taxidermist Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Not the potting soil it was the tub of fishing worms.
RSBreth Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Sounds like B.S. to me, too. Kind of reminds me of this old urban myth: Snake in coat
