How to decide?

Which tailwater would you fish this weekend between the White and the Norfork? My brother is coming in town this weekend. I see him about twice a year and would like to put him on some good size fish. I was hoping water would be running so I could have him throwing Rapalas against the bank, but it doesn't look like that's going to be the case this weekend. What's a fella to do and why?

A good friend of mine who loves to fish for big trout fished the Norfork Tailwater this past weekend with 12 of his college buddies. He reported to me that the Norfork was down most of the weekend but the fishing was spotty. Their biggest trout was a 21 inch rainbow and next was a 19 inch brown. That's 4 days of fishing, 13 guys. He said the White ran all weekend so they didn't go over there.

I don't mean to blow my own horn, being here on Taneycomo, but Randy even said he wished they'd come here. Crowds are way down... tons of fish and the water has been off most if not all of the time.

Not trying to get your business... just sharing what I've heard. Jimmy T. may have a different view though.

Chime in, JT!

Throwing Rapals can be very productive. The best chance of finding water for throwing Rapalas will probably be on the white vs. the norfork. Check the charts as the week goes by and look for a generation pattern on the white. (I'm assuming you want water for throwing rapalas). Other wise Tany may be the place to hit.

I believe phill has the link for the charts on his website. Not the predicted generation schedule but the one that is more real time.

Thanks fellas. I've got to head over towards West Plains to meet him @ my family's property, and he's adament about fishing in AR - I think b/c of the 4 species. I'm in spgfld so I'm down to Taney as much as possible, but just bought my first house so I haven't been as much as I'd like. We'll probably head to the White. I'll let you know how it goes.
