Members Kevin B. Posted April 5, 2011 Members Posted April 5, 2011 Table Rock State Park is a good option at $13 a night -- Table Rock State Park Camping. Not free, but a lot cheaper than a hotel. Zack Hoyt Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I am pretty sure most of the property along Taney is either COE or privately owned. I camper up on the lake when I stayed there. Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions
barredrock Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 do you have to reserve a tent spot, or is it first come first serve????

Randall Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I've stayed there several times and its pretty good. They always have had an open site when I went. Cute animals taste better.
KATroutman13 Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I've always camped at Table Rock State Park or slept in the back of the truck while fishing at Taneycomo. It's a short short drive down. I have never had to reserve a campsite there and I certainly wouldn't think you would need to this time of year.
Members ubear111 Posted April 13, 2011 Members Posted April 13, 2011 we camp at cooper creek. it is a bit more expensive. nice facility. pools, laundry room, store, 2 boat docks. it has trees. it is for campers, but talk to them and they rent you a flat spot with a picnic table. we fish from a boat. ramp is next door. we have topper on the truck, a tarp, and a fold up table. can take a fan to stay cool. a tv - they have cable. you can camp at the downtown camp - behind Scottie's. do it in a tent??? try cooper creek.
