Went to Shoal Creek this weekend with Dylan and Buzz. Like always seems to be the case on this river, it takes the bass a little while to wake up. We hit the water about 9am but, it wasn't until almost 11am before they really started turning on. And speaking of turning, the wind blew so bad that is about all we did. 360's all day. There were many times you couldn't even cast for long stretchs. You just had to try and do what you could to keep some what aimed in a down stream direction. But if you could make a cast, you most likely would catch a fish. If it hadn't been as windy as it was, we would have caught a lot more fish. On time, Dylan and I were actually turned around and pushed back up the riffle we just came down!

Dylan ended the day with about 15 and I had 8-10. They are hungry and they mean business. I am keeping a close eye on the weather. Things are really looking good for the Spring Float at this time. Highs are in the 70's and low 80's for as far as I can tell. There may be some rain this coming Sunday but, I think we should be ok for the float the following Sunday. I will keep you fellas updated. Until then, here are a few pics from the float.

I might have regretted not going Sunday, but man the wind was absolutely brutal. I have never been on a creek with that much wind and I hope I never am again. Other than that I really enjoyed it.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
