Buzz
It's been a long time since I've fished it , but it is loaded with crappie and catfish. The largemouth are outstanding too. Good luck. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Justin Spencer
I was in college at Pitt State working for the fisheries biologist when Bone Creek was impounded. We walked along the creek and put rotenone in the stream and any ponds within the impoundment to try and kill of any rough fish. Came across a family of otters on the creek long before they had been reintroduced. The year or two after stocking we sampled the reservoir and fish growth and populations were incredible (always the case with a new reservior). Don't know if they still stock walleye, but we did and they were 11" after the first year. We also stocked a few smallmouth which did reproduce that first year, shocked most of them around riprap near the dam. We also cut boating lanes through the trees with chainsaws after the lake began to fill, a little scary out of a boat. Would love to hear any reports about how the lake is doing, should be an outstanding crappie lake, and man the largemouth were like footballs last time I saw them. wily
pretty tough over there this weekend...water was 59 degrees. the night before we went had a storm come thru -- bluebird skies in the morning...i guess it knocked the fish back. wind blew hard in the afternoon. we caught a couple small bass, a small snake, some crawdads, a couple peepers, but zero catfish. fish feeders are supposed to come on later in the month...will try it again in a couple weeks
