Guest Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 The bass are bedding at Leatherwood. I can't wait until post spawn and summer when they get on the deeper grass. Its a fun place to night fish in the summer. Lots of nice sized bass and catfish in this lake. we might be staying out there over the weekend..
Quillback Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I hear there's some crappie to be caught in that lake, I bet you'll do well.
Members Dan Sweeney Posted April 17, 2011 Members Posted April 17, 2011 Used to be some fine bluegill and redear in there. Haven't been much the past few years, but now that I am back home I plan to get over that way more regularly and check it out. It's a very pleasant lake, even with the use fee. The lady at the office is really nice. Silence is golden.
J-Doc Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 There is no fee anymore as of this last summer. Just now thought about posting this. It's totally free now. Need marine repair? Guest Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 They need to replace the boat ramp or revert back to a dirt ramp. There's some stupid fish in that lake. I've caught them in the Lily pad field when ice was covering part of it.
J-Doc Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Agreed. A new ramp or something would be an improvement. The weather was terrible and a cold front rolled in the night before I was there this fall. Our company rented the entire park for a company retreat. I found a lot of fish where I suspected they would be by using a contour map. A lot of crappie but the wind was too strong for bobbed fishing and I wasn't having a lot of luck trolling. It was a short trip anyway. I did find out I can use my big motor. I was excited about that. I'll be trolling it again this spring. :-) Need marine repair?
