Fishing Buddy Don House Posted April 17, 2011 Fishing Buddy Posted April 17, 2011 Here is something you really don't get to see this time of year, unless you spend a boat load of time on the water... This is two large pods of Spotted bass about 200 yards away from two large spawning flats.. Found these fish staging on the front of a couple of docks.. Hint. Hint... We ended up finding these guys early and at first got our bites on redfins early, then moved over to vertical jigging grubs to get the best bite.. Few were caught on shakey jigs as well.. These guys were in a feeding mode for sure.. Good Fishing Everyone.. Capt. D Capt. CaptainJoe Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I thought sure those HBs were able to display grid coordinates. Guess not. Great job, Don. getfished Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Don, Thanks for posting the pics. A couple of questions for ya please. In these pics I'm thinking this looks like a display from an 1197, is that correct? Where is the transducer reading from? Is it in the water or sending and receiving the signal through the hull ? Do you use the 2D as much as ever or do you use Down Image in the place of 2D. Thanks. http://www.tacklespecialty.com/

I have it mounted on the front of the boat with an SI transducer on the Trolling Motor and another one on the outside of my hull Aluminum Boat.. Use a A/B Switch box to change front to rear display. My way of not having to Buy another unit. All of those shots were read on the trolling motor transducer, but really only difference is about 18.5 feet, use the SI and DI on the front for looking around and under docks and such.. As far as the 2-D compared to the DI or SI I really use them all, each has its own place, DI and SI are for searching, 2-D is for catching.. Good Fishing.. Capt. I am looking to get a Humminbird Si unit in the near future. I was debating on whether to put the transducer on the trolling motor, or on the transom. This switch sounds like it will solve my decision problem. Exactly what kind of switch box do you use, and how easy is the switch box to set up? Thanks. I'm going to fish my style and make it work for me." -KEVIN VANDAM "Confidence is the best lure in your tackle box." -GERALD SWINDLE "A-Rig? Thanks, but no thanks. If I can't catch them on the conventional tackle that I already use, then I guess I just can't catch them." -LK (WHACK'EM)
