Prater is quite a bit further down from Lime Kiln. We usually do it in two seperate floats. If a guy wanted to, he could make it in a day float. I would guess it's about 8 or 9 miles down. Since I go more by hours fished than miles floated it is not something I worry about. If you don't know the creek it would be difficult to know exactly where his land is until the law or the sidearm wearing muscle asks you to leave. :hope-my-fake-smile-works-again:

Edit: His place is on the left. But he might tell you it's on both sides and the middle.......

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

When the RR. tracks come close to the creek on the right I think that might be past his property down stream a little.....

I noticed that he even had some RR property posted as his own.

Buzz the campground I'm thinking of is on the east side of the freeway..

That is the UnderCliff Campground. Which from what I heard the other day is about to set Prater off into orbit.

Yep it's the Undercliff campground. I thought you were talking about the one on the other side of the highway. It's going to be intresting when the Undercliff starts shuttling canoes again. Praters going to have to hire a whole bunch of good ole boys to watch his land. :ka-boom:

It's always smart to let sleeping dogs lie. The guy will probably find others to harass and if it is one sided the sheriff may well get a little irritated with him. That won't happen if he believes there is harassment coming from this encounter.

I agree with Hank, he's not wrong and this isn't a battle you want to go to court. This doesn't happen very often and there is no use making mountains out of molehills.:angry2:

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Mole hill?? If someone had not made an mountain out of it almost 60 years ago, where would fishing in this wonderful state be? Like KS????

I appreciate your candor, Wayne.. But I don't consider it a molehill either.. I was being harassed the other day while on the river minding my own business.. It's no molehill to me..

And, Chief.. If you remember, KC and I were the first people approached that day and the landowner's first concern was that "there's some campground downstream that thinks they can float their customers across my private property".. Those were his EXACT words, so I do expect that things will come to a head between those two, with the Sheriff right in the center..

Better to have that sorted out now, rather than hashing out the debate over hot coals on the "river"...
