Chief Grey Bear Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 You won't belive this. Trout Commander Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I believe it. (that Prater said it) My goal tomorrow is to get a contact within MDC that would be good to report Prater to for harassing us while we were legally fishing. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack
woodman Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 More harassment by a CONTROL freak without(a life)or a warrant, just a big bluff.... Good thing he is not you're next door neighbour... http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
flytyer57 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Sorry, to me that sounds like you have to stay in the water or on a gravel bed not directly connected to land unless something was in the stream unless... portaging around difficult water or obstructions. I guess one question is a gravel bed considered part of the "bank". I would think that if the property owner owns the land on both sides of the river, you can't be on the gravel bar either. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Call the local law enforcement and ask if there is a warrant for you. They can find out and you can get it taken care of from outside the jail house. Kinda hard to dig up facts from the inside. I was informed by my boss today that Prater called one of our commisioners and said he had an arrest warrant out on me. Prater might be getting me on his "property" within the next few months(probably June) especially if he keeps this up. I would love to take out some pent up aggression on a dill hole, such as this guy, by getting him in court. Would make my day. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis
woodman Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Here is the bottom line of the whole thing (does the public have a right of easement on any river in Missouri) http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/

Here is a good time to get a restraining order on this jerk. Call the local DA of that county/town, ask them how to file and what to file. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. You'd think there'd be some sensibility to the guy somewhere, but he just don't kwit do he? And to think, I felt bad for posting his name on here... (still kinda do, but done is done) I'll call the sheriff tomorrow.. As to Johns question about why I didn't bust out my super-slick sales tongue and coo them all? If you'd actually read Carnegies book you'd know! lol (sorry John, but that was too obvious a one to pass on, I've been attempting to stay outta your craw ) cricket.c21.com
Buzz Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Something that hasn't been mentioned yet is the fact that, Prater has been bothering floaters and fishermen for at least 2 years. As it turned out yesterday he was looking for us. He wasn't just in the woods or field. They saw our vehicles parked along the road or were tipped off that we were on the river and came looking for us with, what I believe to be, intentions to harrass us. Something else not mentioned was that some or at least half of the boats were beached on a big island not actually on his side of the creek. I believe there is something about islands in the Elder case. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
